Evans Bancorp, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for Evans Bank, National Association, which provides various banking services to consumer and commercial customers in western New York. The company operates in two segments, Banking Activities and Insurance Agency Activities. The company generates deposit products, including checking, savings, NOW accounts, certificates of deposit, jumbo certificates of deposit, demand deposits, time deposits, and muni-vest savings. Its loan portfolio comprises residential and commercial real estate mortgage loans, commercial loans, installment loans, residential mortgages, commercial and multi-family mortgages, commercial construction loans, home equity lines of credit, and second mortgage loans, as well as consumer loans, such as direct automobile loans, recreational vehicle loans, boat loans, aircraft loans, home improvement loans, and collateralized and uncollateralized personal loans. The company, through its other subsidiaries, is also engaged in selling various premium-based insurance policies, including business and personal insurance, surety bonds, risk management, life, disability, and long-term care coverage; providing direct financing leasing of commercial small-ticket general business equipment; and providing claims adjusting services to various insurance companies, and non-deposit investment products, such as annuities and mutual funds, as well as offers online banking systems, check imaging, item processing, and automated teller machine services. It operates 13 full-service banking offices in Erie County and Chautauqua County, New York. The company was founded in 1920 and is based in Hamburg, New York.
