BRF S.A., together with its subsidiaries, engages in raising, producing, and slaughtering poultry, pork, and beef in Brazil. The company is also involved in processing and selling fresh meat, processed products, milk and dairy products, pasta, frozen vegetables, and soybean derivatives. Its product portfolio includes whole chickens and cuts of chicken, turkey, pork, and beef; ham products, bologna, sausages, frankfurters, and other smoked products; hamburgers, breaded meat products, and meatballs; lasagnas, pizzas, cheese breads, pies, and frozen vegetables; milk and dairy products, and desserts; juices, as well as soy milk and juices; margarine, sauces, and mayonnaise; and soy meal and refined soy flour, and animal feed. The company primarily sells its products under the Sadia, Perdigão, Batavo, Elegê, Qualy, Chester, Becel, Turma da Mônica, Perdix, Hilal, Halal, Paty, Corcovado, Fazenda, Borella, and Confidence. It exports its products principally to distributors; the institutional market covering restaurants and food service chains; and food processing companies in Europe, the Far East, Eurasia, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and other regions. The company was formerly known as BRF-Brasil Foods S.A. and changed its name to BRF S.A. in April 2013. BRF S.A. was founded in 1900 and is headquartered in Itajai, Brazil.
