Ameris Bancorp operates as the holding company for the Ameris Bank that provides a range of banking services to retail and commercial customers. It offers various deposit accounts and services, including commercial and retail checking accounts, regular interest-bearing savings accounts, money market accounts, individual retirement accounts, certificates of deposit, and negotiable order of withdrawal deposits. The company's loan portfolio comprises agricultural loans, commercial business loans, commercial and residential real estate construction and mortgage loans, revolving lines of credit, and letters of credit, as well as consumer loans, such as motor vehicle loans, home improvement loans, home equity loans, student and signature loans, and small personal credit lines. It operates 66 domestic banking offices and 7 mortgage production offices in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina. The company was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in Moultrie, Georgia.
